Crab pots are floated on the shores of bodies of water (lakes, ponds, rivers, or oceans) and primed with bait to catch fish. Any type of bait can be used in a crab pot, but there is no benefit to using specialized types of bait. Players with the Luremaster profession don't need to add bait.

Harvesting a crab pot gives 5 Fishing experience points, even if trash is caught or the item is normally a Beach forage item. Fish caught with crab pots also count towards the four fishing achievements (Fisherman, Ol' Mariner, Master Angler, and Mother Catch).

Crab pots can be crafted or purchased from Willy's Fish Shop for 1,500g after reaching Fishing level 3. Three crab pots are rewarded for completing the Crab Pot Bundle in the Fish Tank.

Item spawning in Stardew Valley isn't accomplished through typical commands. Instead, it involves a cheat method where you name your character, or an animal, with the item code of the desired item, enclosed in square brackets [ and ]. Include the brackets when naming.

Spawn Using Animal Name

To spawn this item, buy an animal (we recommend a chicken because it is the cheapest) from Marnie's Ranch, name it [710]. You will then receive the Crab Pot item.

Spawn Using Character Name

Since you can only set your character's name once at the game's inception, we advise using the animal naming method.
