Magic Bait is a type of bait that provides the ability to catch any fish from that source regardless of weather, time, or season. It can be attached to a Fiberglass Rod or an Iridium Rod. It can also technically be inserted into a Crab Pot, but it is no better than standard bait as all crab pot fish can be caught anytime in any season in any weather. Bait is always a single-use item. Magic Bait has the same effect on fish bite rate as standard Bait (decreasing biting time by 50%).

Magic Bait Cheat Help

Item spawning in Stardew Valley isn't accomplished through typical commands. Instead, it involves a cheat method where you name your character, or an animal, with the item code of the desired item, enclosed in square brackets [ and ]. Include the brackets when naming.

Spawn Using Animal Name

To spawn this item, buy an animal (we recommend a chicken because it is the cheapest) from Marnie's Ranch, name it [908]. You will then receive the Magic Bait item.

Spawn Using Character Name

Since you can only set your character's name once at the game's inception, we advise using the animal naming method.

However, if you opt for this method, name your character [908] while creating your save file. When you converse with any villager who mentions your name in their dialogue, like Gus at the Stardrop Saloon, you'll receive the Magic Bait item.
