Your save never leaves this browser.
Reading, editing, and downloading all happen on your device. Nothing is uploaded, sent to a server, or stored anywhere outside your browser.
How it works
- 1. Find your save in
%AppData%\StardewValley\Saves(Windows) or~/.config/StardewValley/Saves(Mac/Linux). Each farm has a folder namedFarmerName_Id. - 2. Drop the file with no extension inside that folder (the same name as the folder). Skip
SaveGameInfoand any_oldbackups. - 3. Pick the upgrade level you want — see each tier's unlocks inline. Tap once.
- 4. Download + replace. The edited file comes back with the same name. Drop it into the same folder, overwriting the original. (Back up first if you want to be safe.)
Frequently asked questions
- What's the difference between the four levels?
- Level 0 is the starter house. Level 1 unlocks the kitchen + fridge (cooking). Level 2 adds the second floor with a crib (required to have kids with your spouse). Level 3 adds the cellar with 8 casks (for aging wine/cheese/beer to iridium quality).
- How much in-game money does this save me?
- Level 0 → 3 in-game would cost 175,000g and assorted materials (450 wood + 100 hardwood). This tool skips the cost entirely. The materials don't come back to your inventory — you just don't need them.
- Will it break my save if I downgrade (e.g. level 3 → level 0)?
- Downgrading is allowed but lossy: the cellar disappears (any casks + items inside them are removed when the map regenerates), the second floor goes away (the crib and any sleeping kids vanish from that map view), and the kitchen goes back to a single bedroom. The game doesn't crash, but you lose stored items. Back up first if you're not sure.
- What if Robin is currently building an upgrade?
- The tool detects this (via daysUntilHouseUpgrade > 0) and zeros the countdown when it applies the level change. Robin's queued delivery is silently cancelled — you get the new level immediately instead.
- Will this affect achievements?
- There's a 'Moving Up' achievement for the first upgrade and 'Living Large' for level 3. Both are fired when houseUpgradeLevel crosses the threshold at sleep, so setting the level here and then sleeping triggers them normally.
- Is this safe? Will the file still work in-game?
- Yes for upgrades. Downgrades are lossy (cellar items disappear). The tool only rewrites the level tag and zeros the construction countdown — everything else stays byte-for-byte identical. Stardew loads the file normally.
- Does my save get uploaded anywhere?
- No. The file is read, edited, and downloaded entirely in your browser. Nothing crosses the network. You can verify with browser DevTools → Network tab.
- Does this work on console or mobile?
- No — only PC, Mac, Linux, and Steam Deck versions expose the raw save file. Console and mobile saves are sandboxed by the platform.
