Curiosity Lure Information
The Curiosity Lure is a tackle that increases the chance to catch rare fish. Mummies in the Skull Cavern have a 1% chance to drop Curiosity Lure. It can also be dropped from some monsters as a special item in the Skull Cavern and the Quarry Mine, or as a drop from breaking boxes, crates, and barrels in the Quarry Mine, Skull Cavern, and the Volcano Dungeon.
It is one of two fishing tackles that cannot be crafted, along with the Lead Bobber. It is also one of two fishing tackles that cannot be bought from Willy's Fish Shop, along with the Quality Bobber.
Only the Iridium Rod can equip tackle. To attach tackle to an Iridium Rod, left-click on the tackle, then right-click on the Iridium Rod. To remove tackle, first right-click to remove any bait, then right-click to remove the tackle.
Tackle does not stack in inventory or chests; each tackle takes up one inventory slot.

Give Curiosity Lure as a gift to build friendship. Each villager reacts differently — pick someone who loves it for the biggest friendship boost. Gifts given on a villager's birthday count 8× — a loved gift jumps from +80 to +640 friendship.

Curiosity Lure Cheat Help
Item spawning in Stardew Valley isn't accomplished through typical commands. Instead, it involves a cheat method where you name your character, or an animal, with the item code of the desired item, enclosed in square brackets [ and ]. Include the brackets when naming.
Spawn Using Animal Name
To spawn this item, buy an animal (we recommend a chicken because it is the cheapest) from Marnie's Ranch, name it [856]. You will then receive the Curiosity Lure item.
Spawn Using Character Name
Since you can only set your character's name once at the game's inception, we advise using the animal naming method.
However, if you opt for this method, name your character [856] while creating your save file. When you converse with any villager who mentions your name in their dialogue, like Gus at the Stardrop Saloon, you'll receive the Curiosity Lure item.
