Qi Gems are obtained by completing challenges in Mr. Qi's walnut room on Ginger Island, and used to buy rewards in the same room. They can also be received from selling Golden Walnuts and can be dropped from monsters in the "dangerous" version of The Mines and during the Skull Cavern Invasion quest. Stick Bugs in the Dangerous Mines are guaranteed to drop a Qi Gem when slain, with a 50% chance of dropping an extra one. The amount of Qi Gems that a player has is displayed directly above the wallet in the skills tab.

Give Qi Gem as a gift to build friendship. Each villager reacts differently — pick someone who loves it for the biggest friendship boost.

Qi Gem Cheat Help

Item spawning in Stardew Valley isn't accomplished through typical commands. Instead, it involves a cheat method where you name your character, or an animal, with the item code of the desired item, enclosed in square brackets [ and ]. Include the brackets when naming.

Spawn Using Animal Name

To spawn this item, buy an animal (we recommend a chicken because it is the cheapest) from Marnie's Ranch, name it [858]. You will then receive the Qi Gem item.

Spawn Using Character Name

Since you can only set your character's name once at the game's inception, we advise using the animal naming method.

However, if you opt for this method, name your character [858] while creating your save file. When you converse with any villager who mentions your name in their dialogue, like Gus at the Stardrop Saloon, you'll receive the Qi Gem item.
