The Spring Onion is a foraged item found in Spring in Cindersap Forest, but only on the southeast island (i.e. north of the Sewers entrance). Unlike other foraged items, spring onions are respawned daily: all unharvested onions are removed at the end of each day, and new onions appear. The Livin' Off The Land Television channel airs a tip about Spring Onions on day 4. Spring Onions may randomly appear in the Traveling Cart's stock for 100–1,000g.

Harvesting a Spring Onion grants the player 3 Foraging XP. Only one onion can be harvested per plant; the Gatherer profession does not apply to spring onions.

Once the player has earned 8 hearts of friendship with Jas and Vincent, Spring Onion Mastery can be obtained, which permanently increases the sell price of Spring Onions by 5×.

Spring Onion Cheat Help

Item spawning in Stardew Valley isn't accomplished through typical commands. Instead, it involves a cheat method where you name your character, or an animal, with the item code of the desired item, enclosed in square brackets [ and ]. Include the brackets when naming.

Spawn Using Animal Name

To spawn this item, buy an animal (we recommend a chicken because it is the cheapest) from Marnie's Ranch, name it [399]. You will then receive the Spring Onion item.

Spawn Using Character Name

Since you can only set your character's name once at the game's inception, we advise using the animal naming method.

However, if you opt for this method, name your character [399] while creating your save file. When you converse with any villager who mentions your name in their dialogue, like Gus at the Stardrop Saloon, you'll receive the Spring Onion item.
