Give Training Rod as a gift to build friendship. Each villager reacts differently — pick someone who loves it for the biggest friendship boost. Gifts given on a villager's birthday count 8× — a loved gift jumps from +80 to +640 friendship.

Training Rod cannot be spawned by naming an animal or your character. The naming cheat only reads plain numeric item codes, and this item's code is [(T)TrainingRod] — inside a name the game ignores it completely, with no error and no item.

Spawn Using the Chat Cheat

Enable chat cheats on your save to get Training Rod, then open the in-game chat. That unlocks the /debug commands built into Stardew Valley 1.6.9 — no mods required.

Run /debug iq ALL_ITEMS (T) to open the item browser for this type, then left-click Training Rod to drop it straight into your backpack.
