Treasure Hunter Information

The Treasure Hunter is a tackle that helps fishing by preventing fish from escaping while collecting treasure chests and by increasing the chance to find treasure chests by 5% (or by 10% if the player is using an Advanced Iridium Rod with two Treasure Hunters equipped). It can be crafted or purchased from Willy's Fish Shop for 750g after reaching Fishing level 7. It may also randomly appear at the Traveling Cart for 750–1,250g.

Only the Iridium Rod can equip tackle. To attach tackle to an Iridium Rod, left-click on the tackle, then right-click on the Iridium Rod. To remove tackle, first right-click to remove any bait, then right-click to remove the tackle.

Tackle does not stack in inventory or chests; each tackle takes up one inventory slot.

Treasure Hunter Cheat Help

Item spawning in Stardew Valley isn't accomplished through typical commands. Instead, it involves a cheat method where you name your character, or an animal, with the item code of the desired item, enclosed in square brackets [ and ]. Include the brackets when naming.

Spawn Using Animal Name

To spawn this item, buy an animal (we recommend a chicken because it is the cheapest) from Marnie's Ranch, name it [693]. You will then receive the Treasure Hunter item.

Spawn Using Character Name

Since you can only set your character's name once at the game's inception, we advise using the animal naming method.

However, if you opt for this method, name your character [693] while creating your save file. When you converse with any villager who mentions your name in their dialogue, like Gus at the Stardrop Saloon, you'll receive the Treasure Hunter item.
