Weeds are wild plants which are spawned randomly and may spread if not cleared. Weeds have a 50% chance to drop 1 Fiber when cut with a Scythe, Axe, Pickaxe, Hoe, or Sword, or blown up by a bomb. If a weed does not drop fiber, there is a 5% chance it will drop Mixed Seeds. Both the Mixed Seeds and Mixed Flower Seeds chances are increased to 9% if the player has read the Raccoon Journal. Weeds in the Ginger Island Jungle have an 8% chance to drop Taro Tubers and a 1% chance to drop a Mummified Frog.

There's also a 0.001% chance to find a Living Hat when cutting weeds.

Any weeds above ground disappear in Winter.

Weeds Cheat Help

Item spawning in Stardew Valley isn't accomplished through typical commands. Instead, it involves a cheat method where you name your character, or an animal, with the item code of the desired item, enclosed in square brackets [ and ]. Include the brackets when naming.

Spawn Using Animal Name

To spawn this item, buy an animal (we recommend a chicken because it is the cheapest) from Marnie's Ranch, name it [794]. You will then receive the Weeds item.

Spawn Using Character Name

Since you can only set your character's name once at the game's inception, we advise using the animal naming method.

However, if you opt for this method, name your character [794] while creating your save file. When you converse with any villager who mentions your name in their dialogue, like Gus at the Stardrop Saloon, you'll receive the Weeds item.
