Pine Tar is a Tree sap made from a Tapper placed on a Pine Tree. The process takes 5-6 days. The process takes 5 days, or 2 days with the Heavy Tapper.

Pine Tar can be obtained by tapping Pine Trees growing on The Farm or growing naturally in Stardew Valley (e.g. in Cindersap Forest, the Railroad, around the Carpenter's Shop). It can also rarely be obtained after processing Hardwood in a Wood Chipper.

Although Pine Tar is labeled "Artisan Good" in-game, it does not benefit from the Artisan Profession, but instead from the Tapper Profession (+25% value).

Pine Tar Cheat Help

Item spawning in Stardew Valley isn't accomplished through typical commands. Instead, it involves a cheat method where you name your character, or an animal, with the item code of the desired item, enclosed in square brackets [ and ]. Include the brackets when naming.

Spawn Using Animal Name

To spawn this item, buy an animal (we recommend a chicken because it is the cheapest) from Marnie's Ranch, name it [726]. You will then receive the Pine Tar item.

Spawn Using Character Name

Since you can only set your character's name once at the game's inception, we advise using the animal naming method.

However, if you opt for this method, name your character [726] while creating your save file. When you converse with any villager who mentions your name in their dialogue, like Gus at the Stardrop Saloon, you'll receive the Pine Tar item.
