Red Mushroom Information

The Red Mushroom is found in the Mines, via foraging in the Secret Woods in the Summer and (more rarely) Fall, grown in the The Farm Cave if the mushroom option is chosen, on the farm in fall if the Forest Farm Map has been chosen, or from a tapped Mushroom Tree. It may also be occasionally found in Garbage Cans, at the Traveling Cart, or in the Ginger Island mushroom cave.

Red Mushroom Effects

Red Mushroom is inedible and causes sickness if consumed.

Where to Forage Red Mushroom

Red Mushroom spawns on the ground as forage in these areas — the chance is its weight in that map's daily forage roll.

Red Mushroom Cheat Help

Item spawning in Stardew Valley isn't accomplished through typical commands. Instead, it involves a cheat method where you name your character, or an animal, with the item code of the desired item, enclosed in square brackets [ and ]. Include the brackets when naming.

Spawn Using Animal Name

To spawn this item, buy an animal (we recommend a chicken because it is the cheapest) from Marnie's Ranch, name it [420]. You will then receive the Red Mushroom item.

Spawn Using Character Name

Since you can only set your character's name once at the game's inception, we advise using the animal naming method.

However, if you opt for this method, name your character [420] while creating your save file. When you converse with any villager who mentions your name in their dialogue, like Gus at the Stardrop Saloon, you'll receive the Red Mushroom item.
