Squid Information

The Squid is a fish that can be caught in the ocean at The Beach or on the Beach Farm in the evening during Winter. It can also randomly be found in Garbage Cans during Winter, or at the Traveling Cart for 240–1,000g. Squid can be caught during the entire day on Winter 12th and 13th during the SquidFest festival. Pierre sells five Squid for 10 Calico Eggs each during the Desert Festival.

When placed in a Fish Pond this fish will produce Squid Ink instead of Roe.

Squid can be caught regardless of time of day or season using Magic Bait.

Squid Cheat Help

Item spawning in Stardew Valley isn't accomplished through typical commands. Instead, it involves a cheat method where you name your character, or an animal, with the item code of the desired item, enclosed in square brackets [ and ]. Include the brackets when naming.

Spawn Using Animal Name

To spawn this item, buy an animal (we recommend a chicken because it is the cheapest) from Marnie's Ranch, name it [151]. You will then receive the Squid item.

Spawn Using Character Name

Since you can only set your character's name once at the game's inception, we advise using the animal naming method.

However, if you opt for this method, name your character [151] while creating your save file. When you converse with any villager who mentions your name in their dialogue, like Gus at the Stardrop Saloon, you'll receive the Squid item.
