Sturgeon Information

The Sturgeon is a fish that can be caught in the mountain lake during Summer and Winter. It is least common during rainy winter days (only possible by using a Rain Totem) and most common on rainy summer days, comprising from 11% to 16% of all items caught. It is most likely to be caught when casting farther from shore. It can also be caught during Summer and Winter on the Wilderness Farm. It may also randomly appear in Krobus' shop on Wednesdays for 200g, or at the Traveling Cart for 600–1,000g.

Sturgeon can be caught regardless of time of day or season using Magic Bait.

Sturgeon Cheat Help

Item spawning in Stardew Valley isn't accomplished through typical commands. Instead, it involves a cheat method where you name your character, or an animal, with the item code of the desired item, enclosed in square brackets [ and ]. Include the brackets when naming.

Spawn Using Animal Name

To spawn this item, buy an animal (we recommend a chicken because it is the cheapest) from Marnie's Ranch, name it [698]. You will then receive the Sturgeon item.

Spawn Using Character Name

Since you can only set your character's name once at the game's inception, we advise using the animal naming method.

However, if you opt for this method, name your character [698] while creating your save file. When you converse with any villager who mentions your name in their dialogue, like Gus at the Stardrop Saloon, you'll receive the Sturgeon item.
