Scorpion Carp Information

The Scorpion Carp is a fish that can be caught in the pond at The Desert during all seasons. It can also randomly be found in Garbage Cans after unlocking The Desert, or at the Traveling Cart for 450–1,000g. The only other fish that can be caught in the Desert is the Sandfish.

Since it is more valuable than the Sandfish, it is more difficult to catch and also has a lower bite rate. Catching the Scorpion Carp requires fishing level 4, either naturally or by using fishing Buffs. Other than Legendary Fish, the Scorpion Carp is the only fish where a certain fishing level must be met to hook it.

If the fishing level condition is satisfied, each cast results in a 12-20% chance to hook a Scorpion Carp, with higher chances at higher fishing levels.

Scorpion Carp can be caught regardless of time of day using Magic Bait.

Scorpion Carp Cheat Help

Item spawning in Stardew Valley isn't accomplished through typical commands. Instead, it involves a cheat method where you name your character, or an animal, with the item code of the desired item, enclosed in square brackets [ and ]. Include the brackets when naming.

Spawn Using Animal Name

To spawn this item, buy an animal (we recommend a chicken because it is the cheapest) from Marnie's Ranch, name it [165]. You will then receive the Scorpion Carp item.

Spawn Using Character Name

Since you can only set your character's name once at the game's inception, we advise using the animal naming method.

However, if you opt for this method, name your character [165] while creating your save file. When you converse with any villager who mentions your name in their dialogue, like Gus at the Stardrop Saloon, you'll receive the Scorpion Carp item.
